Nutmeg the Gecko

MEET OUR NEW LIBRARY PET

Please give a warm welcome to the newest addition to the West Warwick Public Library family - Nutmeg!

Nutmeg is a blizzard leopard gecko (eublepharis macularius). She loves dry, arid weather and rocky grassland terrain. She gets fed a mix of meal worms with a tasty powder to give her a nutrition boost, but her favorite treat is grubs!

When we adopted Nutmeg, she was only six months old and much whiter in color than she is today. She also didn't have a name!

The Youth Department held a special library contest for kids and teens to suggest a name for our new lizard buddy. When all the votes were tallied up, the winning entry was Nutmeg.
