Notary & Passport Services
No notary or passport services will be available the week of
Thanksgiving (11/24 - 11/29) or Christmas (12/22 - 12/27)
Notary Services
Beginning on November 4, due to constant demand, a notary will only be available at the following times:
Mondays from 1 PM to 4 PM
Wednesdays from 1 PM to 3 PM
Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 AM to 1 PM
No appointment is needed, however this service is subject to staff availability so please call ahead to make sure a notary is present.
West Warwick Public Library does not charge for notary services, but donations are welcome and directly support library programming and services.
Before Your Appointment
Please bring your printed documents and a valid form of photo ID.
Fill in your document entirely, but do not sign the document if it requires that you sign in front of a notary.
All signers must be present and must bring valid photo ID.
Failure to properly prepare for your appointment may result in our inability to notarize your documents.
Please call 401-828-3750 or email info@wwpl.org to check notary availability.
Passport Services
West Warwick Public Library has offered passport services to the public in a welcoming, inclusive, and comfortable environment since 2015.
Services are available Monday through Thursday by appointment only. Due to high demand, we are unable to offer same-day appointments.
Evening appointments and appointments with a Spanish-speaking passport agent are also available. Passport photos, at a reasonably priced rate, can be taken at the time of the appointment.
Please call 401-828-3750 ext. 4 to schedule an appointment.
Before Your Appointment
Please arrive no later than 10 minutes from your appointment time, or your appointment will be forfeit due to time constraints. If you are no longer able to make your appointment, please call us to cancel or reschedule.
Bring the following to your passport appointment:
-
Your DS-11 passport application, typed and printed single sided or filled out by hand in black ink
-
Acceptable photo ID, preferably a Rhode Island Driver's License
-
Proof of U.S. citizenship (U.S. birth certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, or previous U.S. passport)
-
Payment to the U.S. Department of State in the form of a check or money order
-
Payment to the West Warwick Public Library in the form of check, money order, or cash
-
Optional: you may bring your own photo or have it taken during your appointment for $13.00.
Current passport processing times are 4-6 weeks for routine service and 2-3 weeks for expedited service. These estimates do not include mailing time to and from the passport processing center.
Courier companies cannot deliver your passport faster than applying at a Passport Agency, and charge extra fees for their services.
If you are traveling soon, you may want to consider the expedited and urgent travel options available at your closest Passport Agency.
